Ghana will be represented at the Parasoccer Super4Clash scheduled for the University of Lagos sports centre on October 5, organisers have said.
Team Nkrumah from Ghana will battle with three Nigerian teams for the top prize of N100,000 for each player in the 10-man squad.
Team Awo (from the South West), Team Zik (from the East) and Team Sarduana (from the North) are the Nigerian sides participating in the tourney sponsored by Promasidor.
Speaking at a media briefing on Thursday in Lagos, CEO of Total Consult, organisers of the competition, Mr. Theo Lawson, said, “The Super4Clash is a competition where the best players in Nigeria and Ghana would be assembled to showcase their talent.
“Each of the four teams comprises seven players and three reserves, one coach and two assistants,” Lawson, who is the Vice President of Parasoccer Federation of Nigeria, said.
Director Strategy of Promasidor, Mr. Anders Einarsson, said the company had been sponsoring parasoccer in the last six years because of its passion for sports and the need to give people with disabilities a platform to develop their talents.
Team Zik will play Team Awo in the opening game while Team Nkurumah battle Team Sardauna in the second match. Winners of each game will play the final while the losers play the third place match.
